About Marvin James

Marvin James Rudnitsky graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1964. Those credentials anchored a career that has spanned more than half a century in Pennsylvania legal circles.

He has been associated with Rudnitsky & Hackman, LLP since 1974. Over the decades he has practiced in Pennsylvania and maintained active ties to the state bar. His membership in the American Bar Association dates back to 1967 and has continued uninterrupted. For a period he also belonged to the National Network of Estate Planning Lawyers from 1996 to 2008, a detail that points to work in estate planning among other areas.

Rudnitsky’s career includes a string of leadership and oversight roles in the profession. From 2000 through 2006 he served on the Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board and held the position of Board Chair during that tenure. He was on the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Board of Governors from 2003 to 2006 and sat in the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates between 2004 and 2006. He also served as president of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for the 2005–2006 term. Those positions placed him in the center of legal education, professional governance, and disciplinary policy in the commonwealth.

Colleagues and contemporaneous records show Rudnitsky engaged repeatedly in matters of bar governance and disciplinary procedure. His roles required balancing the interests of practitioners, public protection, and continuing legal education. He participated in policy discussions and organizational oversight rather than in headline litigation or public-facing political roles.

Throughout, he maintained membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and continued his long-standing association with the American Bar Association. His involvement with an estate-planning network suggests practical work advising clients on wills, trusts, and similar arrangements, while his disciplinary work indicates familiarity with professional ethics and regulatory frameworks.

Now in the later stage of a lengthy career, he remains based in Pennsylvania and continues to maintain an active legal presence. He currently concentrates his practice on estate planning and related matters in Pennsylvania.
