About Martin Wayne
Martin Wayne Lester is an immigration attorney based in Hixson, Tennessee. He earned his Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 1990, where he served as Senior Editor of the Yale Law Journal and Executive Editor of the Yale Law Journal of International Law. Prior to law school, he graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Brown University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations.
Admitted to practice law in multiple jurisdictions, including Tennessee, Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Florida, Martin has over 35 years of experience in immigration law. He represents individuals, families, and businesses in matters such as family-based visa petitions, visa applications for entrepreneurs and skilled workers, and permanent resident applications for skilled individuals. In addition to his legal practice, Martin has been actively involved in professional organizations.
He served two terms as Chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Military Assistance Program (MAP) Committee, leading a nationally recognized program that matched qualifying Armed Forces members with pro bono immigration attorneys. He is also a former President of the International Business Council (Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce) and has been a member of the Chattanooga Chamber’s Public Policy Committee. Furthermore, Martin served as the Board Chair of Bridge Refugee Services.
