About Marta

Marta Laynas graduated from Duke University in 1978, earning a Bachelor of Science before turning to the law. She completed her J.D. at Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law in 1981. Those years set the shape of a career split between public service and private practice.

Her earliest post-law school role was as an Assistant District Lawyer in Chester County in 1982. There she gained courtroom experience and handled matters that required swift decision-making under pressure. The job introduced her to the procedural and tactical side of litigation and gave her a foundation in case preparation, witness handling, and courtroom procedure.

In 1987 she founded The Law Office of Marta S. Laynas and has served as its principal since then. Building a solo practice required different skills: client intake, case management, and running a small office. Over decades she has maintained a steady practice, guiding clients through varied legal problems and managing the business side of a law firm.

Her professional approach has been shaped by those two strands of experience. The prosecutorial work taught the mechanics of trying a case. The years in private practice taught client communication and case strategy across a range of matters. She favors direct explanation. She prepares clients for what to expect in negotiations and in court.

Laynas holds membership in the Chester County Bar Association and practices in Pennsylvania. Her ties to the county and the local bar association reflect a long-standing presence in the community. She has worked with fellow attorneys and court staff in the county for decades, maintaining relationships that inform how she handles filings, calendars, and hearings.

She continues to lead The Law Office of Marta S. Laynas, representing clients in matters brought in Pennsylvania courts. Her current practice focuses on serving individuals and local businesses in the state.
