Marlene E. Sanborn is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1998. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Sanborn earned her Juris Doctor degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, graduating in 1998. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1995. During her time at McGeorge, she was recognized with distinction, indicating her strong academic performance.
Ms. Sanborn concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, and elder law. She provides services such as guardianship and conservatorship, estate administration, health care directives, trusts, and wills. Her practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Sanborn has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Placer, the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she served as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer in the U.S. Air Force from 1978 to 1995, gaining extensive experience in military law and legal proceedings.
Ms. Sanborn is an active member of the Sacramento County Bar Association and the San Joaquin County Bar Association. She holds membership in the California State Bar Association. She is also a certified mediator through the Sacramento County Superior Court mediation program.
