About Mark

Mark Sullivan built a legal life that spans private practice and in-house work. He completed undergraduate studies in economics at the University of Virginia, finishing in 1980. He then went on to the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and earned his J.D. in 1983.

He began his legal career at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, joining the firm in 1983. He spent his early years there as an associate and later as a partner, handling the steady flow of matters that come with a full-service firm. That foundation in a larger firm shaped the way he approaches client work: practical, methodical and grounded in precedent.

In 1995 Sullivan opened The Sullivan Law Office, PC, stepping into solo practice for the first time. He returned to firm roles later in the decade, serving as senior counsel at Sable, Makoroff & Gusky in 1996, and then as a senior lawyer at Jones, Gregg, Creehan & Gerace in 2000. Those years included both advisory work and litigation support, and they broadened his exposure to different types of clients and disputes.

The turn of the millennium brought another shift. In 2001 he was general counsel at One Call Systems, Inc., taking on inside counsel responsibilities for a corporate employer. That same year he founded Sullivan Legal Services, LLC and resumed working as a sole practitioner. The move combined his in-house experience and his background at larger firms into a practice model tailored to individual and business clients.

Sullivan’s professional life includes long stretches in private practice and periods inside corporate legal departments. He has worked on transactional matters, contract drafting and negotiation, and client counseling that requires both legal analysis and attention to business realities. Over time he has moved between roles that demanded different skill sets, and he has carried lessons from each stop into the next.

Today he maintains his solo practice through Sullivan Legal Services, LLC and keeps office arrangements with The Lynch Law Group. He continues to take on matters that make use of his years in private practice and as in-house counsel, advising clients on a range of legal issues in Pennsylvania.
