About Mark

Mark Stewart took a straightforward path into the law. He earned a B.A. in Public Relations from the University of Utah in 2007, then completed his J.D. at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2012. Those years combined a study of communication and legal theory. They shaped how he explains legal issues to clients and how he frames arguments for opposing counsel.

He moved quickly into practice after law school. In 2013 he worked with The Advocates at Driggs, Bills & Day. That early position placed him in a small-team environment where attorneys handled a range of client matters. He spent those months learning office systems, client intake and the rhythms of firm work. The experience offered a practical bridge from classroom to courtroom procedure.

Stewart’s background in public relations remains evident in his day-to-day work. He manages client communications, drafts written submissions and assists in preparing materials for hearings and negotiations. He has handled the kinds of routine legal tasks that keep a case moving: gathering evidence, organizing documents and coordinating timelines with colleagues and outside providers. He also participates in client meetings and explains next steps in plain language so people understand what to expect.

Colleagues describe him as methodical and detail-oriented in case preparation. He tends to focus on the process that underpins outcomes: deadlines, filings and clear records. That attention to procedural matters helps prevent surprises and keeps clients informed. He has aimed to build steady, practical skills rather than pursuing a public profile or headline matters.

Over time Stewart has remained in the local legal community, practicing through firms that emphasize direct client service. His training in public relations has been an asset when complex facts need to be conveyed simply. It also shapes how he prepares written material and speaks on behalf of clients in formal settings.

He currently practices at The Advocates. He concentrates on client advocacy and case preparation at the firm and continues to apply the communications strengths from his undergraduate and law school training to his legal work.
