About Mark

Mark Montanaro built a career that bridges community involvement and private practice. He arrived at law after an early stint in local organization leadership and a solid foundation in communications and business law. His path is steady and local. It reflects work inside the law and outside it.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Business Law from Hofstra University in 1999. That undergraduate program preceded his decision to continue at Hofstra, where he completed a Juris Doctor at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law in 2004. Those years supplied the academic tools he would rely on in later practice.

Before finishing law school, Montanaro took on an organizational role that left a mark on his résumé. In 1996 he served as Vice President of the Christopher Morley Knothole Association. The role came early, while he was still a student, and it provided experience in governance and community engagement that he carried into his professional life.

After earning his J.D., he established himself in New York. He is admitted to practice in that jurisdiction. In 2013 he became Managing Lawyer at MontanaroLaw, P.C., a firm through which he handles client matters and oversees daily office operations. The managing role combines client work, case strategy and the practical responsibilities of running a small firm.

Montanaro maintains active memberships in several professional organizations. He belongs to the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him connected to developments in law and to colleagues in the region. They also reflect a steady engagement with professional networks rather than public leadership posts.

Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney comfortable in both courtroom and conference-room settings. His experience in firm management is paired with work representing clients in New York matters. He handles case preparation, client counseling and the administrative side of practice. He has structured a practice that emphasizes direct client service and local legal issues.

He continues to practice through MontanaroLaw, P.C., serving individuals and businesses in New York. He currently focuses his practice on advising and representing clients in matters arising under New York law.
