About Mark K
Mark K Kinzler arrived at law after an earlier life in the arts and social science. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Music Performance from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000, then went on to complete a Juris Doctor at Lewis & Clark Law School in 2005. Those academic choices left a visible imprint on his approach: attentive to individual stories and comfortable in settings that require both technical precision and plain speech.
After law school he gravitated toward immigration work. He joined the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 2005 and has maintained that affiliation since. In 2011 he took on a leadership role at Catholic Charities of Central Texas, serving as Director of Immigration Legal Services. In that post he oversaw programs that served clients with a range of needs, from benefit petitions to forms of humanitarian relief. The role combined casework, program management and community outreach.
Three years later Kinzler opened a private practice. In 2014 he began working as a lawyer at the Law Office of Mark Kinzler, P.C. The move shifted him from nonprofit program administration to the rhythms of a smaller firm. His caseload has reflected that shift. He handles individual representation and counseling, and manages the everyday legal work that keeps immigration matters moving through agency systems and courts.
Peers and clients describe Kinzler as deliberate in his work. He tends to favor careful preparation over flash. That approach suits the procedural nature of immigration law. It also aligns with his earlier training in sociology and music, disciplines that reward steady practice and attention to form.
Kinzler is licensed to practice in Oregon. His experience spans nonprofit services, direct client representation and running a private practice. He has navigated both the administrative side of immigration programs and the one-on-one advocacy of client files.
Today he practices immigration law through his firm. He maintains membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and continues to handle individual immigration matters for clients in Oregon and beyond. His current practice focuses on counseling and representation in immigration matters.
