Mark Frederick Lambert is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1998 and holds bar number 197410. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Lambert is a partner at Cooley LLP, a law firm located in Palo Alto, California. He has been practicing law for over 27 years, serving clients throughout the state and in various federal jurisdictions.

Mr. Lambert earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law San Francisco) in 1998. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991. He also obtained a Master of Arts degree from Middlebury College in 1997. During his time at Hastings, he served as an executive editor of The Hastings International and Comparative Law Review and externed for San Francisco Superior Court Judge A. James Robertson II. Before law school, Mr. Lambert taught high school English literature at St. Mark's School of Texas.

Mr. Lambert concentrates his practice in the areas of technology, life sciences, and medical device law. He represents companies in complex business transactions, licensing and earn-out disputes, founders' disputes, competition, and intellectual property matters. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. He has trial experience in cases involving trade secrets, business torts, copyright, patents, IP licensing, and unfair business competition disputes for clients in a wide range of industries.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lambert has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Francisco, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to joining Cooley LLP, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in San Francisco for five years.

Mr. Lambert is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the USA Track & Field Foundation, Inc., a philanthropic organization that supports elite and Olympic hopeful U.S. track and field athletes and youth fitness programs aimed at underrepresented communities. He is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of California effectively.
