About Mark C.

Mark C. Hartsoe earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1985. He completed his legal education at a time when personal injury law was changing, and he began practicing in the years that followed. He has built a practice grounded in courtroom work and client advocacy.

He is admitted to practice before the Sixth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court, and he holds licenses in Tennessee and Virginia. Those admissions reflect a career that includes appellate work as well as trial litigation. He has maintained active bar memberships for many years and participates in professional groups that bring trial lawyers together across jurisdictions.

Hartsoe has long practiced at Hartsoe Law Office Personal Injury Lawyers. He handles cases that involve serious injuries, pursuing damages on behalf of clients and taking cases to trial when necessary. His practice has an emphasis on personal injury litigation, covering matters that range from catastrophic injury claims to wrongful death actions. He appears regularly in state courts and in federal proceedings within the areas where he is admitted.

His professional affiliations are extensive. He is a member of the Tennessee State Bar, the Blount County Bar Association and the Knoxville County Bar Association. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Tennessee Association for Justice. National organizations include membership in the American Association for Justice and the Circle of Advocates. He is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and he serves as a Master of the Bench for the Hamilton Burnett American Inns of Court. Other memberships include The Verdict Club and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Colleagues point to his long record of courtroom work and to various roles he has taken within bar groups and inns of court. Those roles involve mentoring younger lawyers, participating in continuing legal education and contributing to professional standards. He has also engaged in appellate matters by virtue of his admissions to higher courts.

Outside the courtroom, Hartsoe serves on the board of the Foothills Land Conservancy. That involvement reflects an interest in community and land stewardship beyond his legal practice. He balances civic activity with a schedule of trials and client consultations.

He currently practices personal injury law at Hartsoe Law Office Personal Injury Lawyers.
