About Marivel
Marivel Zialcita built her legal foundation at the University of California, Irvine, where she completed a B.A. in sociology with a minor in classical civilization in 1998. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2002. Those years of study shaped an interest in issues that touch families and older adults.
She entered practice soon after law school. In 2003 she joined the Law Offices of Richard Gann as an associate. The role offered early courtroom exposure and client counseling work. Three years later she moved into of-counsel roles. In 2006 she served as of counsel at Russakow, Ryan & Johnson. In 2008 she took an of-counsel position at SRG Law Group, APLC, where she worked on matters that often intersected with planning and probate concerns.
In 2016 Zialcita opened her own practice and incorporated it as MMZ LAW, A Professional Corporation. As the firm’s owner and lawyer she handles intake, strategy and client-facing work. Running a small firm required shifting between legal tasks and the administrative side of practice. She balanced casework against meeting regulatory and business obligations.
Her professional memberships reflect the kinds of matters she regularly addresses. Since 2016 she has been affiliated with WealthCounsel and ElderCounsel. Those organizations provide resources and drafting tools used by attorneys who prepare estate plans, trusts and documents for clients planning for incapacity and long-term care. Colleagues and clients describe her approach as practical and detail-oriented when reviewing documents and explaining options.
Zialcita is licensed to practice in California. Over the years her work has included drafting estate plans, advising on probate administration and assisting families with elder-law questions. Her practice style favors clear explanations. She takes time to review the documents clients sign and to outline the next steps in a case.
