About Marissa

Marissa Fish earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2014. She finished law school during a period of rapid change in the legal market. That timing shaped the early part of her career and the kinds of matters she took on.

After graduating in 2014, Fish moved into practice. Over the years she has represented clients in a range of matters and has built experience across both counseling and dispute resolution. Her work has required balancing courtroom preparation with client-facing advisory tasks. She has handled research, pleadings and negotiations, and has steered cases from intake through resolution.

Fish maintains current memberships in professional legal associations. Those affiliations have kept her connected to peers and to developments in practice areas that affect her clients. She has participated in continuing legal education programs and professional gatherings that reinforce standards of practice and update lawyers on emerging issues.

Colleagues describe Fish as pragmatic in how she approaches legal problems. She tends to break complex matters into discrete tasks. That makes it easier for clients to understand options, costs and likely outcomes. Fish relies on straightforward communication and careful preparation. She aims to give clients a clear sense of next steps rather than long lists of hypotheticals.

Her courtroom work has taught her the value of a disciplined file and an organized trial notebook. Her advisory work has required translating law into practical advice for business owners and individuals. In both settings she emphasizes responsiveness; clients value timely explanations and regular status updates. Fish’s practice methods reflect an attention to detail and a preference for predictable results whenever possible.

Outside the office she has kept ties to the legal community through association work and local professional networks. Those connections have sometimes informed how she staffs cases and when she seeks outside expertise. Fish adapts to changing client needs and to shifting legal landscapes.

She currently concentrates her practice on representing private clients and businesses, handling both transactional matters and contested disputes.
