About Marianne Rebel

Marianne Rebel Brown entered the law after a steady climb through related fields. She earned a B.A. in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1971, followed by an M.A. in administration from Rider University in 1977. She completed her J.D. at New England Law | Boston in 1980. Those credentials set the stage for a multi-decade legal career in the mid-Atlantic region.

Brown is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She has maintained a presence in local courtrooms and bar associations for many years. Her membership in the American Bar Association dates back to 1980. Later, beginning in 2008, she took a more concentrated role in New Jersey’s legal community, joining the New Jersey Bar Association and several county bars, including Gloucester, Camden and Cumberland.

In 2008 she became the managing member of Rebel Brown Law Group. That role anchors her professional identity. The firm operates a main office along with satellite locations in Central New Jersey and Camden County. Over time she has combined private practice responsibilities with active participation in professional groups.

Her practice includes matrimonial law and related family matters. She is a Certified Matrimonial Lawyer under the New Jersey Court certification program, a credential that reflects specialized training and assessment in that field. Colleagues know her for handling divorce, custody and ancillary disputes that arise when families separate.

Brown has also taken visible roles within the American Bar Association’s GP-Solo division. Since 2015 she has served as co-chair of the Family Law Committee. She has served concurrently as a Diversity Mentor for GP-Solo, a role that involves advising less-experienced lawyers and promoting inclusive practices within the section. Those positions underscore a long-term engagement with professional development and bar service.

Her work spans courtroom appearances, negotiated settlements and client counseling. She balances litigation tasks with efforts to guide clients through complex personal and financial decisions. The offices she maintains reflect an effort to be available to clients across several parts of New Jersey while continuing ties to Pennsylvania practice.

Brown’s years in practice and her certification in matrimonial law inform how she approaches cases today. She continues to lead Rebel Brown Law Group and practices in family and matrimonial law matters in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
