About Margaret Ann
Margaret Ann Sedy earned her law degree from Southwestern Law School, completing her J.D. in 2014. She arrived at law school after earlier undergraduate studies and left with coursework and clinic experience that shaped an interest in civil litigation and business law. During her time in Los Angeles she worked on several moot court and clinic projects, and she entered practice in California soon after graduation.
Her early professional years mixed in-house work and firm practice. In 2016 she served as corporate counsel at Phonexa, LLP, where she handled contract matters and operational compliance for a growing technology company. The next year she moved back into private practice as an associate at LITCHFIELD CAVO, LLP, and then joined Tyson & Mendes, LLP in 2018 as an associate focused on civil litigation. Those roles exposed her to discovery, motion practice and trial preparation in state and federal courts.
In 2019 she opened the Law Office of Margaret A. Sedy. She established the practice to provide clients direct access to litigation counsel and business advice. As founder and owner she manages case intake and client relations, while overseeing litigation strategy when cases proceed. The office handles a mix of disputes that range from commercial contract claims to individual tort matters.
Outside the office she has remained active in professional associations. Since 2019 she has served as Associate Editor of Business Law News, a publication of the Business Law Section of the California Lawyers Association. She is also a member of the American Association for Justice, a group she joined in 2019. Earlier in her career she held membership in the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and participated on the Tort, Trial & Insurance Practice Committee from 2016 to 2017.
Sedy is licensed to practice law in California. Her work sits at the intersection of business disputes and litigation. She balances courtroom work with contract review and counseling for business clients. Her practice continues to handle civil litigation and business law matters in California courts, where she represents clients at various stages of dispute resolution and trial preparation.
