About Marcus
Marcus Susen earned his J.D. from Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2009 after completing a B.A. at Boston University in 2005. He moved from academic study to courtroom practice at a time when the post-recession legal market was shifting, and he has since established a steady presence in Florida’s legal community.
He is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He serves as a partner at Parafinczuk Wolf Law Office and maintains an office with Koch Parafinczuk & Wolf, P.A. His career has combined courtroom work and firm leadership responsibilities.
Susen maintains active membership in the Florida State Bar. Outside of the bar, he is involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Broward County, where he participates as part of the organization’s local efforts. Those ties reflect a continuing connection to the South Florida community where much of his work is based.
In court, Susen appears in both trial and appellate settings. Admission to the First Circuit signals regular engagement with appellate procedure, while his standing in the Southern District of Florida underscores experience in federal trial practice. He represents clients in matters that require filings, hearings, and oral argument in state and federal forums.
Colleagues describe his work in practical terms: managing case files, preparing pleadings, taking depositions and handling motion practice that can shape litigation early on. His partnership role at Parafinczuk Wolf Law Office adds responsibilities for client intake and case strategy, alongside the everyday tasks of litigation practice. He balances casework with the administrative demands that come with running a practice within a mid-sized regional firm.
Susen trained in two distinct academic environments — a large research university for his undergraduate degree and a regional law school for his J.D. — and those experiences inform how he approaches legal problems. He brings procedural knowledge to disputes that require attention to both state court rules and federal practice standards. He has built a practice that places him regularly before judges in Broward and elsewhere in Florida, as well as in federal courthouses.
He currently practices from the offices of Koch Parafinczuk & Wolf, P.A., handling matters in state and federal courts.
