About Marcus

Marcus Sladek trained as a courtroom lawyer. He earned his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 2012 after completing a B.A. in history at Dana College in 2009. Those academic years framed a steady progression from undergraduate study to professional training in litigation.

He began his legal career in public defense. In 2012 he joined the Douglas County Public Defender’s office, representing clients in state criminal matters. The work demanded quick case assessment and frequent courtroom appearances. It also offered a broad view of criminal procedure and client advocacy early in his career.

After five years in public defense, Sladek moved to municipal prosecution. In 2017 he became an assistant city prosecutor in Omaha. The shift placed him on the other side of criminal practice. He handled ordinance violations and misdemeanor prosecutions and worked closely with investigators and victims. The role added depth to his understanding of how different pieces of the criminal justice system interact.

By 2020 he had transitioned back into private practice, joining the Dornan Law Team. That period expanded his exposure to civil matters connected to criminal cases, including post-conviction relief and related civil disputes. It also involved managing client expectations outside the purely public sector environment.

Marcus Sladek is admitted to practice in both Nebraska and Iowa. He has argued cases in state courts and navigated filings across jurisdictions when required. Colleagues describe him as methodical about preparation. Clients have seen that thoroughness in hearings and briefing alike.

He now practices at Chandler Conway, PC, LLO. The firm environment places him alongside attorneys who handle a range of litigation matters. Sladek continues to appear in court, draft motions, and negotiate resolutions. His experience in both prosecution and defense informs how he assesses risk and outlines options for clients.

He balances courtroom work with case investigation and legal research. That combination shapes how he approaches both plea negotiations and trials. Sladek’s current practice centers on litigation and courtroom representation for clients in Nebraska and Iowa.
