About Marcus N.

Marcus N. DiBuduo combined a technical start with later legal training. He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from California State University, Fresno in 1995. Nearly a decade later he completed a J.D. at San Joaquin College of Law in 2004. The two degrees show a steady pivot from engineering into intellectual property law.

His early career drew on that engineering background. He moved into patent work, where technical knowledge matters in drafting claims and assessing inventions. He became registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which allows him to prepare and prosecute patent applications. Over time his practice expanded to include courtroom and appellate work as circumstances required.

He is admitted to practice in California and is authorized to appear before the Ninth Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Those admissions reflect both trial and appellate elements of his work. They also underline his involvement in patent litigation and appeals when cases advance beyond initial filings.

DiBuduo maintains memberships in several professional organizations related to intellectual property and litigation. He belongs to the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Law Section and the Federal Bar Association’s Intellectual Property and Communications Law Section. He is also a member of the Federal Circuit Bar Association, the State Bar of California’s Intellectual Property Law Section, the Fresno County Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers in the San Joaquin Valley. These memberships keep him connected to peers, continuing education, and developments in patent law.

He practices at Dowling Aaron Incorporated, where he handles matters that range from patent prosecution to litigation and appeals. His combination of an electrical engineering degree and a law degree informs how he evaluates inventions, advises clients, and presents technical issues to courts or patent examiners. The work often involves drafting patent applications, responding to office actions, and representing clients in contested proceedings before the USPTO and higher courts.

Clients and colleagues describe DiBuduo as someone who brings technical literacy to legal problems and who navigates the procedural demands of patent practice. His current practice centers on intellectual property, particularly patent prosecution, patent litigation, and related appellate work.
