About Marcio

Marcio Soares built his legal foundation through a sequence of degrees that combine law, public administration and criminal justice. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University in 2008. He then completed a Master of Science in Public Administration at National University in 2017 and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2020. He later completed an LL.M. in Elder Law and Estate Planning at Western New England University School of Law.

Early in his career Soares applied his academic training to practical legal work. His background in criminal justice and public administration informed his understanding of regulatory frameworks and individual rights. After law school he moved into matters that affect families and older adults, an area shaped by demographic trends and complex statutory regimes. He is licensed to practice law in Texas.

Soares moved from foundation to practice by establishing his own office. He is the principal attorney at The Soares Law Office, PLLC. There he handles client intake, counsels on planning options and oversees case management. Running a small firm requires juggling client work, court filings and administrative duties. He has structured his office to provide one-on-one attention to clients while managing the practical demands of litigation and transactional work.

His legal training emphasizes estate planning and elder law. He drafts wills and trusts, prepares powers of attorney and helps families plan for incapacity. He also works through probate administration and the paperwork that follows a death. These tasks often involve detailed document drafting and coordination with financial and healthcare professionals. Soares combines technical legal work with an aim toward clear communication so clients understand the choices before them.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He tends to break complex issues into discrete steps. He prioritizes explaining legal options in plain language. That style can ease stressful situations, such as planning for long-term care or navigating probate timelines.

Outside the office he maintains ties to the professional community. He completed postgraduate study in elder law to deepen his knowledge of statutes and case law that affect older adults. His education and practice have kept him engaged with evolving rules on Medicaid, guardianship and taxation as they relate to estates.

Today Soares practices from The Soares Law Office, PLLC, assisting Texas clients with elder law, estate planning and related probate matters. He currently concentrates his practice on elder law, estate planning and related matters.
