About Marc L.
Marc L. Shapiro began his legal path after completing undergraduate studies at Kent State University, where he earned a B.S. in business and commerce in 1985. He went on to the University of Akron School of Law and received his J.D. in 1992. Those academic steps preceded a long run in Florida courtrooms and arbitration panels.
He opened The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A. in 1992 and has practiced there since. Over the years he has handled matters in both state and federal courts, including appearances in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He holds a Court Appointed Arbitrator Certification from Stetson University College of Law, a credential that signals regular work outside the traditional trial setting.
Shapiro belongs to a number of professional organizations that reflect his courtroom orientation. He is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Collier County Bar Association. He is also listed with National Trial Lawyers and Nation’s Top One Percent (NADC), and maintains affiliations with the American Inns of Court Foundation and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
His practice has centered on contested matters that require both courtroom experience and alternative dispute resolution skills. He has tried cases and argued motions, and he accepts court appointments to serve as an arbitrator when panels require a neutral party with trial experience. Those activities have kept him engaged in the procedural side of litigation as well as in negotiated outcomes.
Colleagues and peers often encounter him in local bar settings and professional groups. He has been involved in Collier County legal circles and participates in events and programs tied to the organizations that list him as a member. This local involvement has complemented his federal practice, where he has filed and defended cases in the Middle District of Florida.
The Law Offices of Marc L. Shapiro, P.A. remains his primary base of operations. He works from that office, litigates in Florida state courts and federal court, and serves as a court-appointed arbitrator when called upon. He currently practices civil litigation and arbitration in Florida and in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
