About Marc A
Marc A Joseph earned a B.A. in political science from Cornell University in 1993 and completed his legal studies at the University of Miami School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 1997. His academic background combined liberal arts and law. That mix prepared him for courtroom work and the practical demands of criminal defense.
He began his public career in the 13th Judicial Circuit, joining the Public Defender's Office as an assistant public defender in 2002. There he handled a steady docket of cases, gained regular courtroom exposure and learned case management under the pressure of a high-volume public office. The experience shaped his approach to both trial preparation and client communication.
In 2007 he moved into private practice as an associate at Phillip A. Baumann, P.A. The role broadened his practice beyond public defense and introduced him to different client expectations and case strategies. Two years later, in 2009, he opened his own practice, Marc A. Joseph, P.A., as a solo practitioner. Operating his own office required him to manage litigation, client intake and the administrative side of running a law firm.
Throughout his career he has concentrated on criminal defense work in Florida. His trajectory from the public defender's office to private practice provided sustained courtroom experience. He has handled pretrial hearings, plea negotiations and trials, developing a practical sense of how cases progress in state court systems. He draws on that experience when advising clients about possible outcomes and procedural choices.
Today he maintains a criminal defense practice in Florida. He represents individuals in state court proceedings and continues to rely on the trial skills and case management habits formed early in his career. His current practice handles criminal defense matters in Florida state courts.
