About Mahbod
Mahbod Khalilpour built his practice around tax law after a trajectory through strong academic programs. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of California, Irvine in 2004. He then took up legal studies at Chapman University Fowler School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2009. He completed advanced tax training with an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 2011.
His education set a clear path. The LL.M. sharpened his grasp of federal tax rules and the technical language of tax practice. The combination of economics, law and specialized tax study shapes how he approaches client problems. He is admitted to practice in California and has kept active ties to the local legal community since completing his degrees.
Khalilpour’s professional affiliations reflect long-standing engagement in Los Angeles legal circles and within Persian-American organizations. He has been a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association since 2011. He served on the board of the Persian-American Networking Development organization from 2017 to 2019, and he was a member of the Iranian-American Bar Association from 2010 to 2019. Those memberships placed him in forums where tax and business topics intersect with community and cultural interests.
He works at The Green Law Group. His practice draws on the technical training of his LL.M. and on his broader legal education. He advises clients on tax planning and compliance matters, and he handles disputes that arise from tax assessments and reporting. His background in economics informs how he evaluates financial issues for businesses and individual taxpayers.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and precise in handling the technical side of tax law. He takes a detail-oriented approach to document review and statutory interpretation. That approach is evident in how he prepares filings and responds to administrative notices. He also participates in continuing legal education to keep current on changes in tax legislation and procedure.
Outside the office, he has been active in professional and community groups that connect legal practice to the Persian-American community in Southern California. His career blends academic training in taxation with practical work for clients at The Green Law Group. He concentrates on tax law and related business matters in his current practice.
