About Madison
Madison Libby followed a straightforward academic path into the law. She earned a B.A. in political science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016 and completed her J.D. at Elon University School of Law in 2022. Those years on campus included coursework and clinics that sharpened practical skills alongside classroom theory.
Her early legal experience began while she was still in school. In 2018 she worked as a legal intern at Strentz and Greene, PLC, where she assisted on intake and client matters. That role introduced her to the day-to-day tasks of a small firm. She returned to Deuterman Law Group as a law clerk in 2021, an internship that bridged academic study and practice.
After graduation she served as a research assistant at Elon in 2022, supporting faculty projects and contributing to legal writing assignments. That position reinforced her research abilities and exposed her to deeper doctrinal analysis. In 2023 she rejoined Deuterman Law Group as an associate attorney, stepping into more responsibility and taking on client-facing work.
Across these roles Libby’s work has involved legal research, drafting pleadings and memoranda, and supporting case preparation. She has moved from internship tasks to substantive contributions on files. Colleagues describe her as thorough in preparing materials and careful in client communication. Those qualities have helped her transition into the associate role.
Licensed to practice in North Carolina, Libby combines recent academic training with hands-on firm experience. Her background reflects a mix of law school scholarship and practical exposure at two different firms. She continues to build a courtroom and office skill set through daily practice and file management.
Now an associate at Deuterman Law Group, she handles matters for clients of the firm and takes part in the firm’s litigation and advisory work. She currently practices law in North Carolina as an associate at Deuterman Law Group.
