About M. Jude
Matthew Jude Egan is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Egan is the founder of Egan Law, a law firm located at 426 Barcellus Avenue, Suite 304, Santa Maria, California. He has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout the Central Coast region, including Santa Maria, the Five Cities, and Santa Barbara.
Mr. Egan earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law in 2004. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Cruz, graduating with honors in 1995. In addition to his law degree, Mr. Egan holds a Ph.D. in Jurisprudence and Social Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, which he completed in 2008.
Mr. Egan concentrates his practice in the areas of family law, estate planning, and civil litigation. He represents individuals and families in matters involving divorce, child custody, support issues, high-asset divorce, mediation, litigation, and trust and estate litigation. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Egan has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Santa Barbara, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a prominent international law firm in San Francisco, focusing on civil litigation and land use matters.
Mr. Egan is an active member of the California State Bar Association and holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. He is also a certified family law specialist, certified by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Egan is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
