M. Dean Sutton has spent decades working in the field of real estate law. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1974 and went on to receive his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1977. Those formative years set a clear trajectory: law rooted in public affairs and practice in property matters.
After law school, Sutton entered practice and built a career grounded in transactional work and property issues. He is admitted to practice in both California and Colorado. Over time he has worked on a wide range of matters that commonly arise for owners, developers and lenders, from document drafting to closings and regulatory concerns. His approach is methodical. He breaks complex problems into manageable steps and explains the implications to clients in plain terms.
Colleges shaped his legal outlook. A political science undergraduate education introduced him to the structures that govern land use and public policy. Today Sutton continues to practice as a real estate lawyer.
