About Lynne

Lynne Layber built her academic foundation at the University of Wisconsin system. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1980 from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, studying international relations, political science and French. She later completed her legal education at the University of Wisconsin Law School, receiving her J.D. in 1992. Those two degrees bookend more than a decade of study and a clear shift into the practice of law.

After law school Layber became part of the Wisconsin legal community. She is licensed to practice in Wisconsin and has spent her career working with clients in the state. Over time she has handled matters that required courtroom work, client counseling and the kind of document drafting that keeps a law practice moving. Her experience is grounded in the day-to-day demands of representation rather than in headline cases.

Her undergraduate training in political science and international relations informs how she approaches problems. Languages and cultural study — she studied French as an undergraduate — added another practical dimension. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in the office, careful with detail and steady in litigation or transactional work. She tends to prioritize clear explanation for clients and methodical preparation for hearings and meetings.

Layber’s path to practice was steady rather than sudden. She moved from liberal arts into law and then into practice in Wisconsin, where she has remained professionally active. That continuity gives her a regional perspective on courts, administrative bodies and local legal institutions. She continues to work in Wisconsin and remains engaged in matters that arise in state courts and agencies.

Today Layber maintains an active practice in Wisconsin, handling matters for clients across the state.
