About Lynda
Lynda Picinic built her academic foundation at Seton Hall University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1999. She went on to attend the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, receiving her Juris Doctor in 2003. Those years set the stage for a career that has moved between courtrooms and private practice in New Jersey and New York.
Early in her legal career Picinic served as a law clerk in 2006 to the Honorable Deborah L. Ustas, J.S.C., at the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County, Chancery Division, Family Part. That role gave her direct exposure to family court procedures and the daily workings of the bench. The clerkship was followed by a sequence of associate positions at regional firms where she handled a mix of matters on behalf of individual and business clients.
In 2007 Picinic joined Cutler, Simeone, Townsend, Tomaio & Newmark, L.L.C. as a lawyer. Two years later she moved to The Simeone Law Group, L.L.C., which had evolved from Simeone & O Sullivan, L.L.P. By 2012 she was listed as a lawyer at Townsend, Tomaio & Newmark, L.L.C. Those roles reflect steady experience at practices that manage contested matters and negotiated resolutions. She has worked on cases that require courtroom presence, calendaring, filings and client counseling.
Picinic is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. She has been a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association since 2007. That membership ties her to the larger professional community in which continuing legal education and bar work play a routine role. She has handled matters that demand familiarity with state procedures and local court rules in more than one jurisdiction.
Colleagues describe her as precise in legal drafting and pragmatic when preparing for hearings. She combines the procedural grounding from her clerkship with hands-on experience at private firms. The work has included discovery practice, motion work, and client advisement, reflecting the daily realities of civil and family-related matters in state courts.
Her practice has been based largely in the New Jersey and New York region throughout her career. She maintains ties to the court system through appearances and filings in both states. She currently practices in both New Jersey and New York courts, handling matters across those jurisdictions.
