About Luke Harrison

Luke Harrison Metzler trained in Houston, earning his law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2011. He entered practice soon after and has spent his career in Texas courts and law offices. His early legal education came alongside practical exposure to civil practice in the state.

His first recorded position after law school was at Miller Weisbrod LLP in 2012. There he worked on a range of matters handled by the firm and gained courtroom experience. That role provided an early foundation in client advocacy and case management during his formative years as an attorney.

In 2021 he became a partner at Van Wey, Metzler & Williams. The move marked a transition from associate-level work to firm leadership. As partner he has taken on greater responsibility for case strategy, supervising junior lawyers, and guiding client relations. Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and meticulous in preparation.

Metzler’s practice has developed around representing individuals and organizations in disputes and transactions that require litigation readiness. He handles pretrial work, negotiation, and appears in hearings when necessary. He also spends time preparing pleadings, taking and defending depositions, and developing trial plans. His approach is pragmatic: he aims to assess legal exposure, present options clearly, and pursue the best procedural path for each client.

Outside of court filings and motion practice, Metzler contributes to firm management and business development. Becoming a partner expanded his role beyond casework to include mentoring newer attorneys and participating in firm-level decisions about practice priorities. He remains involved in the day-to-day work of litigation while balancing administrative duties.

Metzler maintains his practice in Texas. He draws on his South Texas College of Law training and his years of work at Miller Weisbrod and Van Wey, Metzler & Williams when advising clients. His current work centers on representing clients in civil litigation matters and related pretrial advocacy.
