About Luke D
Luke D Mayefske trained first as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he completed his degree in 2007. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2011. Those academic years placed him in two different legal cultures — Midwestern public law and a Midwestern law school known for practical training — experiences that shaped how he later approached client work.
After law school, Mayefske entered practice in Wisconsin. He built his practice inside a state system that favors careful statutory analysis and a strong sense of procedure. Over time he has developed a working knowledge of the rules and norms that govern litigation and counseling in Wisconsin courts and administrative forums.
Mayefske joined Pitman, Kalkhoff, Sicula & Dentice, S.C., where he is listed among the attorneys in the firm’s offices. At the firm he works alongside colleagues on matters that require attention to state law and procedural detail. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and attentive to the factual record. He approaches each file by laying out the early facts and testing legal theories against them.
His courtroom presence is measured rather than theatrical. He tends to emphasize the written record and the clarity of legal argument. When cases settle, he focuses on written terms and enforcement mechanisms. When they proceed to trial or hearing, he attends to timing and evidence. That steadiness has influenced the way clients and peers handle disputes that come through the office.
Outside the courtroom, Mayefske’s work is practical. He prepares pleadings, drafts memoranda, and counsels clients on procedural choices. He also assists in communicating case status to clients so they understand next steps and likely timelines. The practice demands attention to deadlines and rules; those are the routines he keeps central to his approach.
In Wisconsin courts and administrative venues, Mayefske continues to represent clients on matters governed by state law. He remains based at Pitman, Kalkhoff, Sicula & Dentice, S.C., where his current practice focuses on matters arising under Wisconsin law.
