About Luis A.
Luis A. Guerra built his legal foundation across several institutions before entering practice. He earned a J.D. from Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 2006. His academic record also notes time at the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2005 and Georgia State University College of Law in 2006. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Political Science at Florida Atlantic University in 2001.
After law school, Guerra established himself in Florida’s legal community. He practices as a lawyer at Guerra Saenz, PL. Over the years he has become a regular presence in the state’s immigration bar and federal forums. His work is grounded in courtroom experience and filings across multiple federal venues.
Guerra is board certified in immigration law by The Florida Bar. That certification marks a distinct professional credential within the state discipline of immigration practice. It signals that he has met the criteria set by the bar for specialization in this area of law.
He is admitted to practice in Florida and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He also holds admission to several federal district courts in Florida, including the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts. Those admissions allow him to take matters before both trial and appellate federal forums when necessary.
Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as procedural and methodical. He tends to concentrate on case preparation and managing filings in complex administrative and federal settings. He has handled matters that require coordination between state licensing processes and federal immigration procedures, often addressing statutory and regulatory issues that affect clients’ status or eligibility.
At Guerra Saenz, PL he performs the day-to-day work of counsel: interviewing clients, preparing petitions and motions, responding to government inquiries and appearing in hearings. He also shepherds cases through removal defense, family-based petitions and other immigration-related applications when filings progress to federal court.
Throughout his practice he has maintained active memberships in courtroom rosters across the state and the federal appellate circuit. That standing allows him to represent clients at multiple levels of review. He currently practices immigration law at Guerra Saenz, PL, representing clients in matters that arise before state and federal tribunals.
