About Liz
Liz Brendze trained at Brown University and the University of Virginia School of Law. She earned her B.A. from Brown in 1986 and her J.D. from UVA Law in 1990. Those years bookend the classroom work that prepared her for a career spanning two states.
She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. Over time she gravitated toward matters that affect older adults and their families. Her involvement in professional organizations reflects that path: she holds membership in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Elder Law Section and sits on the Elder Law Committee of the Montgomery Bar Association.
Her day-to-day work covers areas common to elder law. She handles probate matters and works on guardianship and conservatorship cases. Estate planning and long-term care planning also make up a steady part of her docket. She assists clients who are sorting through the practical and legal decisions that come with aging, and she often coordinates with financial planners and health-care providers when cases require it.
Colleagues describe her approach as practical and detail-oriented. She prioritizes clear explanation and paperwork that stands up under scrutiny. That style matters in elder law, where documents and timelines can affect benefits, housing, and family relationships. Participation in bar committees gives her a forum to stay current on procedural changes and policy developments that affect older clients.
Brendze divides her practice across the two jurisdictions where she is admitted. She counsels individuals and families on estate planning, probate administration, guardianship, and Medicaid eligibility. Her current practice focuses on elder law, probate, and estate planning.
