About Lisandra Matos
Lisandra Matos Fajardo earned her law degree from South Texas College of Law in 2013. She completed her legal education during a period of change in personal injury practice, when settlements and courtroom litigation both demanded careful strategy. Her time in law school included study of tort law and litigation practice, foundations that would shape her career after graduation.
She is licensed to practice in Texas and Colorado. Those dual jurisdictions have shaped how she approaches cases. Texas courts set one set of expectations; Colorado courts set another. Having familiarity with both systems allows her to assess cases against different procedural and substantive backdrops.
In 2016 she founded Matos Personal Injury Lawyers and serves as the firm’s lead lawyer. Starting a firm three years after law school required building a case load quickly and handling the many tasks small firms carry in house. She has handled claims for clients injured in automobile collisions, slip-and-fall incidents, workplace accidents and other personal injury matters. Her work has involved both pre-suit negotiations with insurers and the preparation of claims for litigation when settlements could not be reached.
Her practice style emphasizes clear client communication and practical case planning. She meets clients early in the process to establish priorities and timelines. File investigation, medical records review and coordination with treating providers are regular parts of how she builds a claim. When cases proceed toward trial, she prepares witnesses and evidence to present a coherent narrative to judges or juries.
Matos balances negotiation and litigation. Many cases settle before trial, and she approaches those discussions with an eye toward a client’s longer-term needs. At the same time, she prepares cases as if they will be litigated. That keeps options open and often strengthens a client’s position at the bargaining table.
Outside the courtroom she oversees the daily operations of her firm. That includes managing client intake, supervising support staff and shaping case strategy across the attorney team. Starting and running a boutique personal injury firm has meant handling both legal work and the business tasks that keep a practice running.
Her current practice focuses on personal injury cases, representing people injured in accidents and pursuing recovery through negotiations or litigation as appropriate.
