About Lisa Watson
Lisa Watson Cyr earned a B.A. in criminology, political science and sociology from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1991. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in 1995. Those years set the foundation for a legal career that moved steadily from associate roles into firm leadership.
She began practicing soon after law school and joined Olive, Taber & Owens, P.A. as an associate in 1998. Two years later she became a partner at McCullough, Bowden & Cyr, P.A., a role that expanded her responsibilities in litigation and client counseling. The move to partnership came early in her career and marked a shift from supporting work to handling major courtroom matters and client strategy.
In 2009 she became a lawyer and managing partner at Bowden Cyr, PLLC. In that capacity she has overseen case management and the business side of a small firm while continuing an active docket. Her progression from associate to managing partner reflects years spent in courtrooms, settlement negotiations and client conferences. Colleagues describe a pragmatic approach to case preparation and courtroom advocacy.
Cyr is admitted to practice in Minnesota and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She has been a member of the Ramsey County Bar Association since 2000 and joined the Washington County Bar Association in 2009. Since 2021 she has held membership in the Association of Family & Conciliation Courts, a professional group that concentrates on family law and the intersection of legal and clinical practices. Those memberships indicate an ongoing engagement with local bar activities and family law circles.
Her office is located at Bowden Cyr, PLLC, where she manages both the firm’s caseload and administrative duties. Over more than two decades she has moved through different roles at several firms and carried a courtroom practice through each phase of her career. She currently practices in Minnesota and before the Eighth Circuit at Bowden Cyr, PLLC.
