About Lisa Mary

Lisa Mary Doran built a legal path that begins in the classroom and settles in the courtroom. She earned a B.A. in English from Wilkes University in 1983. She then completed her law degree at Duquesne University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1990. Those academic years laid a foundation for a practice rooted in Pennsylvania law.

Her professional life has been closely tied to a single firm. She is a member of Doran & Doran, PC. Over the years she has maintained ties to local and national legal communities. She has belonged to the Luzerne County Bar Association since 1990. She is also a member of the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute. In 2020 she joined the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and remains an active member.

Those memberships reflect the work she has carried out. Her practice involves bankruptcy matters, including consumer filings and business reorganizations. She handles the paperwork and court appearances that bankruptcy practice requires. Colleagues and opposing counsel see her regularly in the bankruptcy courts of Pennsylvania.

Doran's approach is straightforward. She prepares pleadings, appears for hearings, and advises clients on the choices that follow financial distress. Her background in English contributes to clear motion drafting and careful analysis of legal texts. She balances advocacy in court with office work that keeps cases moving through the system.

Over time she has seen the shifts that affect people and businesses facing financial trouble. Changes in bankruptcy law and local court procedures have altered practice patterns, and she has adjusted her work accordingly. She attends continuing legal education and participates in bar activities that address procedural and substantive developments. These connections keep her current on matters that affect her clients and their cases.

Outside of courtrooms and CLE programs, her role at Doran & Doran, PC ties her to the local legal community. She works alongside others at the firm to manage caseloads and serve clients across Pennsylvania. Her practice remains anchored in bankruptcy practice and related litigation.

She currently practices at Doran & Doran, PC, where she focuses on bankruptcy and related matters.
