About Lisa M.
Lisa M. Okasinski took a steady path into law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies from Kent State University in 2006 and went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2013. Those formative years shaped an approach that blends courtroom work with dispute resolution, and they set the stage for a career that moves between litigation and mediation.
She started her legal practice in 2013 at Demorest Law Office, PLLC, where she handled a mix of matters in state and federal court. Early litigation assignments gave her practical courtroom experience. Over time she expanded the scope of her work to include alternative dispute resolution and began pursuing mediator training to add another avenue for resolving conflicts.
In 2019 she opened Okasinski Law, PLC. The firm offers representation in matters brought in Michigan courts and in federal forums. Okasinski is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions enable her to handle cases that require appearances across multiple levels of the judiciary.
Outside of litigation she is a Certified Mediator through Southeast Dispute Resolution Services. That credential reflects additional training and a willingness to explore settlements when those options serve clients better than prolonged litigation. She has combined her courtroom work with mediation practice to offer clients different pathways to resolution.
Her professional record is straightforward. She moved from an associate role at a small firm to founding a firm bearing her name. The move allowed her to set the pace of her practice and choose the mix of litigation and dispute resolution she takes on. Colleagues and clients have noted that she navigates procedural and substantive issues in both state and federal settings.
She maintains bar admissions that permit work at several federal levels and in Michigan courts. She also remains active in community and professional settings where dispute resolution is discussed and taught. Her practice emphasizes practical outcomes, clear explanation of legal options, and representing clients in court when necessary.
Today Lisa M. Okasinski leads Okasinski Law, PLC, represents clients in state and federal matters, and works as a mediator through Southeast Dispute Resolution Services.
