About Lisa M.
Lisa M. Nyuli practices in Illinois and has an established record in family law and related areas. She trained in business before turning to law. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986, then graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law with a J.D. in 1989. Those credentials set the stage for a career that spans courtroom work, mediation and bar leadership.
Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1989 and to the U.S. Supreme Court, Nyuli joined private practice and moved into firm leadership. She became a partner in 2000 at Ariano Hardy Ritt Nyuli Richmond Lytle & Goettel P.C., where she has handled matrimonial and family law matters for clients across the region. Her practice blends trial experience and alternative dispute resolution; she has tried cases and also worked in collaborative and negotiated settings.
Colleagues and clients see Nyuli as a steady presence in local and state legal circles. She has taken on recurring leadership roles in professional organizations. At the Illinois State Bar Association she has been active since 1989, serving on the Assembly and later on the Board of Governors, and she held the office of Treasurer for the association. She has also served on the Judicial Advisory Polls Committee.
Her involvement extends to the Illinois Bar Foundation, where she joined the board in 2010 and later served in officer roles, including Treasurer and Vice Chair of The Fellows. She holds the designation of Gold Fellow. Nationally, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a credential that recognizes experience in matrimonial law and peer review.
Nyuli has stayed engaged at the county level as well. She served as President of the Kane County Bar Association and led its family law committee on multiple occasions. She helped organize programs for solo practitioners and small firms, chairing a conference committee and participating in continuing legal education efforts for many years.
She also contributed to task forces and special committees that examined collaborative law and the future of legal services, including a vice chair role on one such task force. Her work on continuing legal education committees spans more than a decade, reflecting a long-term interest in professional training and standards.
Today she remains a partner at Ariano Hardy Ritt Nyuli Richmond Lytle & Goettel P.C. and continues to practice primarily in family and matrimonial law matters.
