About Lisa M

Lisa M Figueroa built her path to law in Central Florida. She earned a B.A. in Political Science with a pre-law concentration from the University of Central Florida in 2000. She went on to receive her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2003. Those years shaped her interest in courtroom procedure and client advocacy.

After law school she entered private practice and joined the Florida defense bar. Over time she took roles that placed her in both state and federal courtrooms. She is admitted to practice in Florida and before the Federal Circuit, which allows her to handle matters that cross trial and appellate lines.

Her day-to-day work has involved litigation, motion practice and pretrial strategy. She has handled pleadings, depositions and hearings, often working on cases where procedure and timing are critical. She appears frequently in the Orlando area and maintains a satellite presence in Kissimmee for clients who prefer appointments closer to home.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparing for hearings and precise in court filings. She tends to approach problems by breaking them down into concrete steps. That approach serves in settings that demand careful attention to statutory deadlines and evidentiary rules. It also helps when coordinating with experts and managing discovery schedules.

Outside of the courtroom she has been involved in matters that require negotiation and client counseling. Those tasks call for clear communication and an ability to explain legal trade-offs. She balances litigation tasks with client meetings and file management, often moving between the firm’s offices depending on case needs.

Figueroa is based at the Florida Defense Team’s Orlando main office and also sees clients at the Kissimmee satellite office by appointment. She continues to work in state and federal matters, representing clients from initial pleadings through resolution. She currently practices at Florida Defense Team, handling state and federal matters from the firm’s Orlando and Kissimmee offices.
