About Lisa Lynn

Lisa Lynn Coggins built a career out of steady progression through courtroom support and firm practice. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Delaware in 1997 and completed her J.D. at Widener University Delaware School of Law in 2001. Those years set the stage for work in litigation-adjacent roles before she began practicing law.

Early on she worked as a law clerk in 1998 at the Philadelphia District Lawyer s Office. The following year she joined Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP as a paralegal. That period provided firsthand exposure to complex case preparation and courtroom procedure. In 2001 she moved into the role of lawyer at Ferry Joseph, P.A., where she has continued her practice.

Coggins is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New York, Florida and Delaware. She participates in professional organizations that reflect an emphasis on insolvency and bankruptcy matters. She holds a current officer role as Secretary/Treasurer of the Delaware Bankruptcy American Inns of Court. She also belongs to the International Womens Insolvency & Restructuring Conference and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Her trajectory shows an early focus on the mechanics of litigation paired with later specialization. The clerkship and paralegal work gave her an operational view of how cases move from filing to resolution. As a lawyer she took that foundation into matters involving bankruptcy and restructuring, where procedural detail and timing are often decisive. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical; she tends to break complex issues into manageable tasks.

At Ferry Joseph, P.A., she has practiced through periods of shifting creditor-debtor landscapes. Her membership in bankruptcy-focused groups keeps her engaged with developments in insolvency practice and cross-border restructuring trends. She contributes as part of local professional communities and attends industry gatherings that address evolving practice concerns.

Outside of court dockets and meetings, Coggins keeps a practical view of legal work. She emphasizes clear case management and close attention to filing requirements. That pragmatic stance guides how she counsels clients and coordinates with trustees, creditors, and other counsel.

She currently practices bankruptcy and restructuring law at Ferry Joseph, P.A.
