About Lisa I.
Lisa I. Fried-Grodin built her legal foundation after completing a J.D. at St. John’s University School of Law and a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her journalism training shaped a direct writing style and an investigative approach she later applied to workplace matters. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.
She started her legal career in 2001 as an associate at Grotta Glassman & Hoffman PC. That early period gave her exposure to the procedural and factual work that underpins employment disputes. In 2006 she joined Fox Rothschild, LLP as an associate, where she handled matters that broadened her experience in labor and employment law.
In 2011 she co-founded Meyers Fried-Grodin LLP and served as a partner. In that role she oversaw clients and helped build the firm’s employment practice through counseling and litigation work. Colleagues from that period describe a lawyer who balances courtroom preparations with attention to client communications.
In 2022 she established Fried-Grodin Employment Law LLC and began practicing under her own firm name. Since forming her firm she has continued to represent clients on workplace-related issues. Her practice combines reactive work — responding to disputes and claims — and proactive counseling on workplace rules and procedures.
Fried-Grodin maintains active involvement in professional groups. She serves as a director of the Morris Essex Small Firm Networking Group. She is also a member of the New York City Bar Association and has been part of its Labor and Employment Law Committee since 2022. She participates in committee work and local networking that connect small-firm practitioners across the region.
Her work touches both litigation and advisory matters. She advises employers and individuals on compliance questions, internal investigations, and dispute resolution. She has prepared pleadings and taken cases through various stages of litigation, while also drafting handbooks and workplace policies. The combination of trial experience and advisory work informs how she approaches case strategy and client counseling.
Clients and peers note her practical approach to solving employment problems and her straightforward communication style. She continues to practice through Fried-Grodin Employment Law LLC, where her work centers on employment disputes, workplace policy counseling and related compliance matters.
