About Lisa Gail
Lisa Gail Sherman built her legal foundation at the University of Rochester and Washington University in St. Louis. She earned a B.A. in economics and political science in 1990, along with a management certificate in finance. She completed her J.D. in 1993, a path that led her into employment and labor law early in her career.
Her first roles were as an associate in small and mid-size firms. In 1993 she joined Kamer & Ricciardi and two years later moved to Littler Mendelson P.C., a national employment law practice. She spent time at Knee & Mason (also known as Knee & Ross) as an associate and then transitioned into roles that mixed in-house work and contract assignments. By 2006 she was serving as corporate counsel at HRN Services, Inc., and in the following years she worked as a contract lawyer for various offices while also publishing and authoring materials.
In 2011 Sherman took on contract and of-counsel work for Leader Counsel and other clients. Two years later she founded Sherman Law Corporation and became its president, billing herself as an employment law lawyer. Her resume shows steady movement between private practice, in-house counsel work, and contract arrangements. That variety allowed her to handle workplace investigations, counseling, and litigation support in different settings.
Her engagements extend beyond the office. She holds a certification in conducting workplace investigations from the Association of Workplace Investigators. She has been active in professional groups for many years. She is a member of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the Los Angeles Bar since 1995 and has belonged to the Association of Workplace Investigators since 2013, where she was a speaker at the 2014 annual conference and served as co-chair of the West Los Angeles section. She also joined the American Bar Association in 2014.
Sherman is admitted to practice in California and Nevada. Her practice history and organizational work reflect a steady emphasis on employment law, workplace investigations, and counseling employers and employees on compliance and dispute resolution. She continues to practice through Sherman Law Corporation, concentrating on employment and labor matters in her licensed jurisdictions.
