About Lindsey K.
Lindsey K. Terry built her legal foundation at Columbia College, where she earned a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 2014. She went on to Golden Gate University School of Law and received her J.D. in 2017. Those years of study set the stage for a career rooted in courtroom practice and public defense work.
Early in her career she sought hands-on experience. In 2015 she interned at the United States Lawyer's Office. She returned to Tuolumne County Public Defender as an intern in 2017 and remained there as a post-bar clerk in 2018. Those roles placed her in client interviews, hearings and courtroom proceedings during a formative period for a young lawyer.
Her time at the Tuolumne County Public Defender's office gave her sustained exposure to criminal matters. She assisted on case preparation, worked on motions and supported trial-ready files. The combination of a federal office internship and public defender work exposed her to different perspectives in criminal law practice and to the procedural demands that come with contested hearings.
After the post-bar clerkship she transitioned into private practice under her own name. She opened a practice operating as Lindsey K. Terry, Lawyer at Law. The move to a solo practice allowed her to manage client relationships directly, oversee case strategy and handle the administrative side of running a small law office. Clients seeking an attorney for criminal matters now consult her practice for guidance on hearings, plea negotiations and trial preparation.
She is licensed to practice in California and continues to draw on earlier public defender experience in her current work. Her practice handles criminal defense matters in state courts and places emphasis on direct client service and courtroom representation. Her current practice focuses on criminal defense in California.
