About Lindsee Acton
Lindsee Acton Scherich built an unconventional academic foundation before entering the courtroom. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies and American Studies from the University of Kansas in 2008. She returned to school seven years later and completed both a Master of Social Work and a Juris Doctor at Washburn University and Washburn University School of Law in 2015. The combination of social work and law informs how she approaches family matters and client counseling.
After law school, Scherich became active in the legal communities of both Kansas and Missouri. She holds membership in The Missouri Bar since 2015 and joined the Wyandotte County Bar Association in 2016. She also became a member of The Earl E. O'Connor American Inn of Court in 2019. Those memberships placed her in networks that include judges, experienced practitioners and newer attorneys. The connections helped her move between public roles and private practice.
In 2018 she served as a court trustee for Wyandotte County. The trustee role involved administrative oversight of court processes and working directly with litigants on procedural matters. That experience gave her day-to-day exposure to family court calendars and the practical mechanics of local court systems. It is a brief but concrete episode in a career that balances courtroom procedure and client interaction.
Scherich completed a family law certification through Washburn University School of Law, an academic credential that aligns with her practice interests. She is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri, and her work draws on both jurisdictions’ statutes and rules. Her dual degree background — social work and law — influences how she frames disputes and negotiates settlements, especially in cases involving children and household finances.
She practices under the name Scherich Family Law. In that setting she handles the common tasks of family law practice: drafting pleadings, negotiating agreements, and representing clients at hearings. She contributes to local bar activities and participates in continuing legal education through bar groups and professional circles. Colleagues describe her approach as practical and detail-oriented. Clients encounter a lawyer who combines legal training with social work sensibilities.
As of 2026 she maintains active bar memberships and remains engaged in local legal organizations. Her current practice focuses on family law matters in Kansas and Missouri, where she represents individuals in divorce, custody, and related proceedings.
