About Linda E.

Linda E. Hagner graduated from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, in 1989. She completed her legal studies at a time when the profession was changing fast. The law school shaped her early approach to practice and problem solving.

Her career includes a period as in-house counsel for Helly Hansen AS in 2011. That role put her inside a multinational corporate environment and exposed her to commercial and compliance issues. Working in-house gave her experience in contract review, risk assessment, and advising nonlegal teams.

A decade later Hagner shifted roles in a different direction. In 2020 she served as a public defender with the Marion County Association of Public Defenders. The work demanded quick thinking and courtroom preparedness. In the same year she volunteered with Immigration Counseling Service, taking on pro bono matters that involved immigrants and asylum-related issues. Those volunteer hours broadened her practical experience and confronted her with a different set of procedural and client challenges.

Outside of litigation, Hagner pursued training in alternative dispute resolution. She is a Court Certified Mediator in Summit County, Utah, through the Mountain Mediation Center. The certification reflects formal training in mediation techniques and courtroom-adjacent settlement work. It also means she is qualified to preside over mediated sessions in Summit County and has a credential that complements both her defense and corporate work.

Hagner is admitted to practice in Oregon. She maintains an office under the name Hagner Law PC. That office serves as the base for the mix of matters she handles and for the mediation services she offers. In practice she draws on varied past roles: corporate counsel, public defender, and volunteer immigration lawyer. Those experiences feed into how she approaches disputes and client counseling.

Colleagues and clients describe her work as direct and practical. She tends to favor clear explanations over legalese. In court she has leaned on the procedural experience from public defense work. In mediation she uses techniques learned through her Summit County certification to help parties find settlement pathways.

Her current practice at Hagner Law PC concentrates on litigation and dispute resolution, including mediation, and addresses matters that reflect her background in public defense, immigration assistance, and corporate counsel work.
