About Lesley V.

Lesley V. Herring built a layered academic foundation before she became a lawyer. She earned a Bachelor of Science in geography and a Master of Arts in philosophy from Texas A&M University - West Texas A&M University. Those degrees were followed by a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University, completed in 2010. The mix of analytical training and broader humanities study informs the way she approaches legal problems.

After finishing law school in 2010, Herring moved into legal practice and into the bar community. She joined national and local organizations, including the American Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar Association. Over time she added memberships in the Multnomah and Washington County bar associations. Her involvement in these groups has kept her connected to developments in practice and procedure across several forums.

Herring is also active in associations that signal courtroom work and peer engagement. She belongs to the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and Oregon Women Lawyers. Those memberships reflect time spent around litigation and trial practice, and a willingness to participate in the professional networks that shape litigation strategy in Oregon. Peers encounter her at association CLEs and regional bar events.

Her day-to-day work centers on litigation. She manages cases from initial pleadings through discovery and trial, handling procedural demands and courtroom hearings as needed. Herring’s academic background in philosophy and geography surfaces in how she organizes complex information and frames arguments for judges and juries. She studies the facts closely and presents them plainly.

Herring’s current office is Hobson and Associates. There she continues to represent clients in contested matters, drawing on courtroom experience and association ties to navigate litigation pathways. She remains an active member of the Oregon State Bar and several local bar groups while carrying a caseload that includes trial work and related litigation tasks.
