About Leon Roger
Leon Roger Storie trained first as an undergraduate at the State University of New York College at Brockport, where he earned a B.S. in American Studies in 1994. He went on to the University of Alabama School of Law and received his J.D. in 1997. Those years placed him at the intersection of broad social inquiry and formal legal training, a background that would shape his early work.
Fresh out of law school, Storie took a staff lawyer position at the Legal Services Corporation of Alabama’s Tuscaloosa Regional Office in 1997. He handled matters for clients who otherwise had limited access to legal help. The experience offered practical courtroom time and exposure to a range of civil problems faced by low-income residents.
A year later he moved into private practice as a partner at the Law Offices of James D. Smith. The partner role broadened his caseload and introduced responsibilities on the business side of running a law office. By 2004 he had established his own practice as owner and managing partner of Leon Storie, Lawyer at Law. That step marked a shift from employee to principal. It also meant supervising staff, managing client intake, and shaping the direction of the firm.
Storie has been active in local professional circles. He has held membership in the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association since 1997. He also participated in the Alabama State Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program between 2010 and 2012, contributing pro bono hours to assist clients in need. Those memberships reflect steady involvement in the legal community rather than fleeting association.
Over the years Storie’s resume mixes public interest work and private practice. His early service at Legal Services Corporation placed him on cases that often required creativity and resourcefulness. His subsequent years in private practice required him to manage a broader range of client expectations and to run the operational side of an office.
He maintains an office at 2804 8th Street and continues to practice in Alabama. He is licensed to practice in the state and carries experience from both the nonprofit and private sectors. He now practices from his office at 2804 8th Street and handles legal matters in Alabama.
