About Leeann
Thornhill earned her Juris Doctor from the Louis D — Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2003. Prior to her legal education, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the College of Charleston in 1999. This foundational knowledge in political science has informed her understanding of the legal field and the details of public policy. Admitted to the Kentucky State Bar in 2005, Thornhill is also licensed to practice in the U.S. Federal Bankruptcy Courts of the Western District of Kentucky, Eastern District of Kentucky, and Southern District of Indiana. Her diverse qualifications allow her to serve many clients facing various legal challenges.
This breadth of experience has positioned her as a knowledgeable advocate in bankruptcy law and related fields. Before founding Thornhill & Holt in 2021, she worked at O'Bryan Law Offices, where she worked from 2007 to 2011. Subsequently, she served as Of Counsel at Hayden, Craig & Grant from 2011 to 2012 and at Gailor Law Office from 2005 to 2007. Each of these roles developed her skills in legal practice and client representation, contributing to her expertise in bankruptcy and debt relief. Thornhill is an active member of the Kentucky State Bar and has been involved with the Greater Louisville Outstanding Women (GLOW) since 2012. Her contributions to the organization reflect her commitment to empowering women in business and law.
Recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers from 2013 to 2017, Thornhill has established herself as a respected figure in the legal community, earning accolades for her dedication and effectiveness as an attorney. In addition to her legal practice, Thornhill is committed to community service. She serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary for Green Convene, a local non-profit dedicated to promoting sustainable public policy in Louisville. Furthermore, she is a member of the Board of Directors for The Love Brigade, an organization focused on supporting single parents in the area. Thornhill’s involvement in these organizations shows her dedication to making a positive impact in her community.
