About Lee
Lee Wilson built a legal identity that mixes technical tax training and small-firm practice. He earned a B.A. in Business Administration, Marketing and Management from Texas A&M University in 1998, took a J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law in 2004, and completed an LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2007. The sequence of degrees maps to a continuing interest in business and federal tax matters.
After law school and graduate tax study, Wilson organized his practice around the issues most common to business owners and individuals facing tax disputes. He serves as the managing lawyer at The Wilson Firm, where he oversees client work and the firm’s operations. His academic background in taxation informs case strategy and client counseling; the LL.M. in Taxation is a credential that guides how he approaches federal tax questions and planning.
Wilson’s engagement with the State Bar of Texas Tax Section underscores that connection to tax practice. He participates in the Tax Section Leadership Academy and holds a vice-chair role on the Solo and Small Firm Committee. Those roles place him in regular contact with other lawyers who handle tax controversies, compliance, and planning for smaller practices and closely held businesses.
Local professional and civic ties play a visible part of Wilson’s career. He has been on the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Bar Association since 2014. He also serves on the All Montgomery County Scholar Athlete Awards Committee, a role he began in 2016. Membership in The Woodlands Rotary Club is part of his community involvement, and he maintains a position on the Texas Tech University School of Law Alumni Association Executive Board since 2012. He is also involved in the United States Tax Court Pro Bono Program.
Colleagues and clients describe a lawyer who balances technical work and practical problem solving. Wilson frequently advises small business owners, professionals, and individuals about tax compliance, controversy matters, and the intersections of tax and business law. His committee work within the State Bar signals continuing engagement with issues that affect solo practitioners and small firms.
He oversees The Wilson Firm’s day-to-day legal work and contributes to bar leadership and community programs. His current practice centers on tax law and related business matters handled through The Wilson Firm.
