Leah Michelle Boucek is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1995. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Boucek serves as a Commissioner for the Superior Court of San Diego County, California, where she brings nearly 30 years of experience to the bench. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego School of Law, teaching family law courses.

Ms. Boucek earned her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 1995. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Point Loma Nazarene University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1991. During her time at California Western, she developed an interest in family law, which has been the focus of her legal career.

Ms. Boucek's practice areas include family law, with experience in divorce, child custody, and support matters. She has been involved in all stages of legal proceedings, including litigation, negotiations, and trials. Her extensive experience has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of family law issues, which she applies in her current role as a judicial officer.

Throughout her career, Ms. Boucek has held various positions in the legal field. She began her career as an associate at McDougal, Love, Eckis, and Grindle in 1995, focusing on family law matters. From 1998 to 2006, she was a sole practitioner in El Cajon, California. In 2006, she joined the Law Office of Sandra L. Mayberry in La Mesa, where she continued her family law practice until 2011. In 2014, she transitioned to the San Diego Superior Court as a staff attorney in the Family Law Facilitator’s Office. She was promoted to Family Law Facilitator in 2018, overseeing four family law self-help centers in different court branches. In 2023, she was appointed as a Commissioner for the San Diego Superior Court, serving in an independent calendar assignment for the Family Law Division.

Ms. Boucek is an active member of the California State Bar Association. She was honored with the Judicial Officer of the Year award in 2024 by the San Diego Family Law Bar Association. She also serves as a member of the California Judicial Council’s Family Law Curriculum Committee, contributing to the planning of judicial trainings statewide for family law judicial officers. Ms. Boucek is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of Spanish, enabling her to effectively serve the diverse communities of San Diego County.
