About Lauren

Lauren Thrasher took a practical route into law. She learned the ropes in courtrooms and classrooms, then set up her own practice. Her career blends trial work, teaching and program management.

Thrasher earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 2015. She arrived at Emory after undergraduate study and finished law school ready to try cases. The Emory connection resurfaced later in her career when she returned to teach.

Her first position after law school was as an associate at David West and Associates in 2015. That role led quickly to public defense work. In 2016 she joined the DeKalb County Public Defender's Office, where she handled criminal defense matters and gained frequent courtroom experience. Those early years established her as a trial lawyer comfortable in high-pressure settings.

In 2017 Thrasher took on a teaching role as an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law. She balanced classroom responsibilities with active practice. The combination of teaching and litigating became a theme in her career.

By 2021 she was working in private practice again as an associate at Waldon, Adelman, Castilla, Hiestand & Prout. That same year she took on a leadership post at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy as a program director. In that capacity she organized training programs and helped design curricula intended to sharpen courtroom skills for practicing attorneys and students.

In 2022 Thrasher launched Thrasher Law, LLC. She founded the firm to pursue a private practice built on courtroom work and instructional experience. The office handles litigation tasks that draw on her years as a public defender and as a trial instructor. Her background includes case preparation, trial advocacy training and courtroom strategy.

Clients and colleagues describe Thrasher as attentive to procedural detail and focused on practical outcomes. She continues to teach occasionally and remains involved with trial training initiatives. Her practice in 2026 centers on litigation and criminal defense matters, reflecting the mix of courtroom practice and legal education that has defined her career.
