About Lauren Rachel
Lauren Rachel Truslow began her path toward law in classrooms and courtrooms rather than in a single, decisive moment. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre‑Law and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland University College in 2011, and later completed her Juris Doctor at Regent University School of Law in 2016. While in school she also pursued a Spanish language certificate, a skill that would later inform parts of her practice.
Her early legal work stretches back to the years before law school. In 2009 she worked as a service paralegal at the Finkel Law Office, handling tasks that exposed her to client intake and the mechanics of litigation support. In 2012 she took on an operational role at The Fogle Law Office’s Charleston satellite office. Those positions were practical training grounds. They shaped her understanding of how small offices run and how clients experience legal services.
As a law student she returned to hands‑on legal tasks. In 2014 she interned in several areas, including immigration, criminal, family, personal injury, and social security disability work. That period allowed her to rotate through different practices and see which matters demanded more of her time and attention. After passing through those varied legal environments, she steered toward immigration law and held a role as an immigration lawyer at the Devendorf Law Office in 2018. That position marked a transition from supportive and administrative roles into direct representation.
Truslow’s language training complements her immigration work. The Spanish certificate she earned at the University of Maryland University College assists her in communicating with Spanish‑speaking clients and in reviewing documents in another language. Her background across multiple practice areas also gives her a practical appreciation for how immigration issues intersect with criminal, family, and administrative matters.
Colleagues and clients who have worked with her describe an attorney who is methodical and pragmatic. She brings courtroom awareness and office experience to client matters and adapts procedural knowledge from earlier paralegal and operational roles to case management. She is admitted to practice in Virginia.
