About Lauren
Lauren Popovitch built her legal foundation at Cornell University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science, and completed her law degree at Albany Law School. She moved to Boston after law school and established herself in the local legal community. Peers and colleagues know her for steady courtroom presence and practical counsel.
Early in her career Popovitch became involved in bar activities and civic clubs. She joined the Cornell Club of Boston in 2011 and has maintained that membership since. Her participation in the Boston Bar Association began around the same time, and she later joined the Massachusetts Bar Association. Those affiliations provided early opportunities to network and to learn the procedural and substantive contours of Massachusetts practice.
Popovitch’s work is anchored in family law. She has been an active member of the Boston Bar Association Family Law Section since 2012. The section’s programs and case discussions have provided a forum for her to engage with evolving issues such as custody standards, property division, and post-judgment enforcement. In 2021, Boston Magazine recognized her among its Top Lawyers, a professional distinction that reflects peer recognition.
Her admission to practice reaches beyond the state level. She is admitted in Massachusetts and in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. That dual admission has allowed her to handle both trial-court matters and appellate filings when cases require further review.
Over time Popovitch established POPOVITCH LAW LLC, where she runs a practice that handles family law matters and related proceedings. Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. Clients often encounter complex financial and parenting issues. She works through those details, explaining options and likely outcomes in plain language.
Outside the office Popovitch remains engaged in the legal community. She continues active participation in the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Cornell Club of Boston. That involvement keeps her connected to changes in court rules and emerging case law.
